In our vineyards: winemakers who are innovating in agroecology

Winegrowers who are trained
to prune in a way that respects sap flows and in the use of cover crops as ‘green fertilisers’

Winegrowers who experiment
The Genodics process: treating wood diseases in the vine with sound frequencies that stimulate their reaction to pathogenic fungi

Smart winemakers
Acquisition of smart weather stations and tools that support decision-making in order to combat downy and powdery mildew

Winegrowers that are committed to biodiversity

A member of the French ‘Vignerons Engagés’ network since 2011, the Cave des Vignerons de Buxy is implementing a tree-planting programme (local varieties) to encourage biodiversity to return to its vineyard plots, to offer a refuge for local fauna, to structure the landscape and to absorb carbon emissions. In 2018 and 2019, this wonderful initiative enabled 200 trees to be planted.
Trees…
purify the air and help us breathe: a large tree provides enough oxygen for 4 people,
prevent run-off and soil erosion,
absorb the CO2 emissions of two vehicles,
fight climate change and release, on average, 50 l water/day for crops
soothe our minds: a walk in the woods lowers cortisol, which is a stress-related hormone
attract birds and offer homes to a huge array of species
